Nightwish is nominated for an ECHO award in Germany in the category "Rock/Alternative International".
The ECHO award is the german equivalent of a Grammy. This is already Nightwish's second nomination for this prestigious award. The band previously won an ECHO award in 2008. The ceremony will be held on Thursday evening and is being broadcast live on TV. Competitors in the category are Evanescence, Foo Fighters, Nickelback and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

For those who have missed the release date, Nightwish's new five-track single "The Crow, The Owl And The Dove" is out now! In addition to the title track, it features the previously unreleased song "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" (theme from the movie "The Piano").
